About Stahili
Stahili is an NGO that works in child protection, development, education, and human rights. ‘Stahili’ means ‘to deserve’ in Swahili. We believe that every child deserves to fulfil his or her potential and to be protected.
Children need families, not orphanages
Stahili was born in response to the unnecessary institutionalisation of children in Kenya. We help bring children living in orphanages, including children who have have been trafficked, home to families.
Where we work
Stahili is headquartered in Kenya and the Netherlands. We carry out our protection and development work in Kenya. Our education programmes are run in the Netherlands and human rights work in relation to children’s rights is carried out globally. Stahili is registered in Kenya, the Netherlands, and the United States.
Our Team
Stahili’s team is made up of practitioners, experts, teachers and students who want to make the world a better place for children. Meet our team here.
